Disponsable Mixers
2K DISPOSABLE STATIC MIXERS
Photo 1. Helical mixers with different lengths, different diameters, different inlet connections, different outlet tips and different materials.
We present our line of disposable static mixers (nozzles), which are used for mixing and homogenizing two or more components simultaneously.
Disposable static mixers have been used successfully for many years for mixing 2-component resins, adhesive applications, glues, among others.
Disposable mixers are available in different types of plastic; (acetal, polyacetal and polypropylene), and are single-use items.
We have different brands of static mixers (nozzles) such as Statomix, Val-Mix, Mixpac among others.
We basically handle two geometric configurations that have different characteristics in relation to their mixing capacities and costs.

1. Helical geometry static mixers, considered medium performance, are the most commonly used. The helical static mixer is a mixer designed for simple mixing and compound concentrations from 1:1 to 10:1. Together, they represent approximately 80% of the requirements in the “2K” (2-component) resin industry.
2. Family of static mixers with high-efficiency X-type internal elements. (Non-helical).
All models, helical, “X” type and the so-called “quadro” are made of acetal and sometimes of polypropylene.
To identify and REQUEST any mixer in general, it is necessary to verify the following characteristics:
1- INTERNAL DIAMETER OF THE MIXER = OUTSIDE DIAMETER OF THE ELEMENTS NOTE, THE LETTER “d” MUST BE MARKED ON THE DRAWING
2. NUMBER OF INTERNAL ELEMENTS (N)
3. TYPE OF BELL (standard, threaded, flat)
4. TYPE OF TIP (smooth or stepped)
5. COLOR OF THE ELEMENTS (if any)

Types of elements

There are different types of connection in this type of mixer, smooth bell, threaded bell, flat or double entry. Therefore the tables below are based on the type of connection or bell and the type of helical or square internal element.
Below is a table with the standardized measurements of which we have different brands such as Val-Mix, Stamixco, Medimix/Sulzer Mixpac and Stato-Mix (MCH, ME, etc.), among others. Please feel free to ask for other special measurements.
First the helical internal element are shown and then the GX and others, the tables are classified by the type of connection. Sometimes covers or nozzles are used with these mixers to provide safety during high pressure supply and also to prevent the plastic housing from "expanding" during operation.
MIXERS WITH HELICAL ELEMENTS AND STANDARD BELL
They are made from different materials according to their resistance in psi, according to the following classification:
White color: Acetal material. Available ratios are 1:1 and 2:1. These mixers are fixed by a retaining nut. MCH static mixers can be used with epoxy, polyurethane, silicone and a variety of other adhesives and sealants for various applications.
Blue color: Polyacetal material, can withstand high machine pressures. Covers are normally used with these mixers to provide safety during high pressure delivery and also to prevent the plastic housing from "expanding" during operation. The cover connects the mixer to the machine via a retaining nut. ME static mixers can be used with epoxy, polyurethane, silicone and a variety of other adhesives and sealants for various applications.
Orange color: Used to dispense adhesives from 200 and 400 ml two-part plastic cartridges. Available ratios are 4:1 and 10:1. They can be used with epoxy, polyurethane, silicone and a variety of other adhesives and sealants for various applications.

Static mixers do not have moving parts. They have internal elements with defined geometric structures, mainly helical type and others in the form of “X” and “square”. These elements are inside a casing or tube containing the material specified in each case.
Thanks to these geometries, when the fluids are processed through the line of mixing elements they are repeatedly recombined and contacted ensuring the desired level of homogeneity. Materials with different viscosities, concentrations and volumes can be mixed. The size of the mixer depends mainly on the degree of mixing required, the viscosity and concentration of one stream in the other.
In some disposable mixers the size and number of internal elements of the mixer being used is already indicated, if you have any questions, please contact us to help you select the most suitable one for your processes.
