Transitional Flow

XL-R Geometry Application

The XL-R geometry is highly effective when the flow is in the intermediate range—neither fully laminar (Reynolds number greater than 40) nor completely turbulent (Reynolds number less than 2,300). Specifically, it is optimal for flows where the Reynolds number is greater than 40 but does not exceed 2,300.

Transitional flow occurs when the flow is neither fully turbulent nor completely laminar, with a Reynolds number between 40 and 2,300.

The XL-R element, characterized by its open interior design, is superior to the classic "V" and "X" types of thin cutting plates at 30°. This design effectively handles viscous mixtures, addressing common issues such as pressure drop and clogging caused by small debris

Applications
